History
B-K Motorsports was established in Wartburg, Tennessee in 1991, by Bob Kennedy. B-K Motorsports operated in Wartburg for 12 years with steady growth. In 2003, B-K Motorsports moved to a location in Solway which provided a larger building with an expanded showroom and parts display. B-K Motorsports experienced rapid growth after re-locating to Solway (between Oak Ridge and Knoxville, TN). B-K Motorsports has now re-located to Oliver Springs (as of January 2008) to further expand its showroom, parts department, and service department.
Today, B-K Motorsports is owned and operated by Bob Kennedy and his wife Casey. Bob and Casey Kennedy both work full time in their store to provide quality customer service.
Bob’s background as a professional in the motorcycle and ATV industry is extensive. His experience over the past 30 years includes service technician, retail sales, and motorcycle dealership management positions. Along with industry work experience Bob has completed dozens of factory training courses with Honda, Yamaha, Harley-Davidson, and many others. In addition to dealership experience and training, Bob has been involved with motorcycle and ATV racing throughout his career. As a rider, Bob began competing in motorcycle dirt track racing in 1971, motocross racing in 1977, and hare scrambles racing in 2001. As a mechanic and race engine builder, Bob has wrenched and tuned for motorcycle and ATV racers competing in motocross, dirt track, hare scrambles, and road racing. The results achieved by his riders range from local area championships to national championships. In 1988, after receiving Honda factory training, Bob became a certified Honda CR (Motocross Race Bike) Support Technician. Bob worked at area tracks, giving trackside tech support to Honda Amateur Race Support Team riders. Bob also gave service seminars to local motocross riders at the local Honda CR Support Dealer (Bob was service manager there also). Bob operated the B-K Motorsports Trackside Race Support at I-40MX in Lenoir City, TN from 1994 through 1997. At every race for four years, Bob was there selling racing fuel, parts and equipment. Bob also did trackside service and repairs. Bob did extensive race engine and suspension building services at the Wartburg shop location as well.
Over the years Bob’s shop has been a motocross race series sponsor at I-40MX, I-81 Motorsports Park, and the Mega Series. B-K Motorsports is a sponsor for the annual Coal Creek OHV Spring ATV Jamboree and Fall ATV Jamboree. Bob and Casey are both active members of the Windrock ATV Club. They have both recently served as members of the club's Board of Directors. B-K Motorsports is a Gold Level sponsor of the club and also donates to annual charity auctions and other local benefit rides. B-K Motorsports is also a sponsor of the Volunteer Riders of Knoxville, Tennessee, a club for off road motorcycle trail riders. Bob is an active member of EastTnRiders.com online forum for local riders. B-K Motorsports also helps sponsor their annual spring and fall club rally.
Goals
Bob’s goal with B-K Motorsports has always been to have a shop that provided better quality customer service than a “typical” dealership model. Bob shares his years of training and experience in the industry with his customers by providing expert advice and quality service for motor sports consumers. He can sell the right products and give technical advice based on his own experiences riding, testing, modifying, racing, and repairing motorcycles and ATV’s. The typical B-K Motorsports customer may be a backyard play bike rider, a hunter with an ATV, a street bike rider/commuter, or they may ride top level competition racing machinery.
